Why We Chose Golf as Our Ministry Platform
People often ask us, 'Why golf?' It's a fair question. Of all the ways to do ministry, why build it around a sport?
The answer is simple: golf creates the perfect environment for ministry. A round of golf takes 4-5 hours. That's 4-5 hours of walking, talking, laughing, and being honest in a beautiful outdoor setting. No office. No church pew. No clinical waiting room. Just a fairway and fellowship.
Golf is also a game of integrity, patience, and humility. You play your own ball. You keep your own score. You can't fake it. These are the exact qualities needed for recovery.
And then there's the mulligan — the most gospel-centered tradition in all of sports. A free second chance. Grace in action. What better metaphor for the ministry we do?
