This is arguably the most important verse for anyone in recovery. It declares that in Christ, you are fundamentally new. Not improved. Not patched up. NEW.
Your addiction doesn't define you. Your past doesn't own you. Your failures don't disqualify you. In Christ, you have a new identity, a new purpose, and a new future.
Living into this truth is the daily work of recovery. It means choosing to believe what God says about you over what addiction says about you. Every. Single. Day.
